- Sagem Fast 3464 - enable VLAN20 by resetting the modem
This page will explain you how to activate the eth1.20 interface and to update the firmware by resetting the modem to the default settings.
Once the reset is done, the modem is running in the bridge mode. If you're usually using the Sagem as just a dsl modem, reset to the factory settings will be enough to activate the interface VLAN20 and to make the modem prepared for the firmware update.
If you choose this way, the current configuration of the modem will be lost and you will have to restore it afterwards (the time it might take depends on the complexity of your current configuration).
There are two ways to reset the modem:
Via your web browser
Enter http://192.168.1.1 as the website address. By default there is no password needed to access the interface.
- Go to Advanced Settings / Maintenance and click the Restore to factory default configuration button.
By pushing the RST button on the back side of the modem for 20 seconds

The LEDs on the front of the modem will go out and then light up at the same time. Once it's done, the modem will synchronize again.

If the LEDs start blinking, the firmware update is launched. You should wait until all the LEDs are constantly ON (it may take about a half an hour).
It's really important not to power off or reboot the modem until the firmware upgrade is done. Otherwise your risk to brick your device.
- Please note that if the current firmware is several versions older than the most recent one, all the updates to the newer version will be done at once, so it might take a while more (in worst case scenario up to 1 hour).
- If the vectoring-friendly firmware is already available at the time you reboot the modem, it will be updated at once. Otherwise, once it's released, it will be automatically installed after another reboot.
